چکیده
Continuous Passive Motion - CPM is a therapeutic method that provides fast and safe patient rehabilitation. Considering the fact equipment performs movement along with patient, who also does it but passively, this treatment procedure can immediately be applied in postoperative care period. Although technique makes recovery faster, as strains will spared from ligaments, muscles tendons, not all clinics offer therapy due to its high cost. Bearing mind existence of such aforementioned motion, objective work was development manufacture prototype device for continuous passive shoulder movement, costs reduced an approximate value USD$730.00 compared average price market which around USD$1510.00. This difference values would make affordable greater majority offices purchase them and, thus, promote accelerated timely limb after operation, larger number patients, allowing these patients return their daily tasks shorter period time. For execution prototype, specific mechanical manufacturing methods, us turning, milling welding materials, were order effective, provide comfort above all, most physiotherapy clinics. The material used production stainless steel, cables, pulleys, tilting automation kit inductive sensors.

Continuous passive motion device for hand rehabilitation.
Prototypes have been designed and manufactured for a lightweight portable device which continually moves all the joints of the hand passively through a range of motion. Inflatable bag modules in the palm of the hand are ganged together to create the required range of motion. A battery-operated air pump cycles compressed air to the modules. Initial clinical experience with patients who have flex...
متن کاملContinuous Passive Motion Rehabilitation after Surgery for Glenohumeral Instability
Results: Rehabilitation programs following anterior shoulder instability procedures utilizing passive motion provided by a CPM device, a physical therapist, or patient selfdirected exercises can be found in the literature. However, no outcome studies on these rehabilitation protocols have been found. Therefore, in light of no unanimity of opinion, rehabilitation programs need to be based on sou...
متن کاملTechnical note Continuous passive motion in hand rehabilitation
This paper reviews the literature comparing the results obtained in applying regimes involving motion with those involving rest following injury or surgery. The deleterious effects of immobilisation are compared to those obtained under conditions of passive motion and intermittent passive motion. It is concluded that continuous passive motion (CPM) represents an improvement on intermittent moti...
متن کاملElbow Passive Motion Rehabilitation Utilizing a Continuous Passive Motion Device following Surgical Release, Manipulation Under Anesthesia, or Post Stable Fracture: A Review
Background Post-operative rehabilitation of the elbow following a stable fracture, surgical release or manipulation under anesthesia consists of a period of passive motion (PM) to prevent adhesions, the detrimental effects of immobilization, reduce pain, reduce inflammation and increase range of motion to a functional level. Continuous passive motion (CPM) devices have been used routinely as a ...
متن کاملA comparison between electromyography-driven robot and passive motion device on wrist rehabilitation for chronic stroke.
BACKGROUND The effect of using robots to improve motor recovery has received increased attention, even though the most effective protocol remains a topic of study. OBJECTIVE . The objective was to compare the training effects of treatments on the wrist joint of subjects with chronic stroke with an interactive rehabilitation robot and a robot with continuous passive motion. METHODS . This st...
